Toothbrush Tips |
With such a variety of shapes and styles of toothbrushes available today it can be confusing.
A soft bristled brush is best for plaque removal and it will not damage your teeth like a medium or hard bristled brush would. Or you alternatively you could purchase an electric toothbrush; it will do a much improved job at removing plaque from your teeth.
Toothbrush time frame:
It is recommended that you replace your toothbrush once it begins to wear or every 3 months. Also if you have a cold/flu you should replace the brush as the bristles can collect the bacteria that can cause re-infection.
Toothbrush abrasion:
One of the most common problems caused in the mouth is toothbrush abrasion. It is caused by improper brushing. Toothbrush abrasion can cause sensitivity, create a groove in the tooth/teeth and will strip the enamel.
Manual toothbrush instruction:
It is best to clean the teeth with a gentle up and down action. Rather than a sawing back and fourth action. |
